1) Turn off the video camera or DVR
2) Plug the remote into the LANC socket of the device
Warning: Never insert or remove the plug while power is on!
Power on: Press the remote button once, and wait until the LED is GREEN. The power switch on the DVR should already be set to ON during this operation. The LED will be GREEN for about one second, then off for another second. Then, the LED will flash the number of times according to the currently selected mode, to indicate which one is active. When the LED remains steady GREEN, it means the DVR is ready.
Power off: Press and hold button for at least 2 seconds and the LED will turn RED and blink quickly. Release the button to turn power off.
Recording and Standby: Press the remote button once. The LED changes to RED and the DVR starts recording. Pressing the button again will stop the recording, and the LED will switch back to GREEN color.
Display version: The Pro-LANC remote supports all 3 known version of LANC, all of which are pre-programmed into the unit, and can be changed to suit the requirements of your camera or DVR. To find out which version is currently selected. Power off the DVR via the remote, then power it back on by pressing and holding the button at least 3 seconds, but less than 6 seconds, until the LED slowly blinks in GREEN color. Release the button at this point, and the LED will blink in RED color between 1 and 3 times according to the number of the current version.
Change version: Power off the DVR via the remote, thenpower it back on by pressing and holding the button for at least 6 seconds, until the LED blinks quickly in GREEN color. Release the button at this point, and the LED will blink in RED color between 1 and 3 times to indicate which version is now active.
Version 1: Camera, Photo and VCR/Player modes can be controlled independently, but the camcorder or DVR will always restore to Camera mode every time you power it back on. Version 1 can work with any V8/Hi8/DV/DVD/HDD camcorder in camera mode.
Version 2 & 3: The LANC remote controller will override the video camera power switch to set the recorder in VCR/PLAYER mode automatically, when the LANC remote is connected. This is very useful for a variety of extreme sports activities.
LED Status Indication
Steady Green: Standby mode, ready to record.
Steady Red: Recording.
Quick Red Blink: DVR will be turned off once button is released.
Quick Green Blink: LANC version will change once button is released.
Slow Green Blink: DVR is in Standby and has one of the following problems:
Low battery, Less than 5 minutes left or REC protect is ON.
Slow Red/Green Blink: DVR is recording but has one of the following problems:
Low battery, NO video source orless than 5 minutes. left.
Slow Red Blink: Wrong mode, Not ready or No tape / Memory card.
Steady Yellow: A fatal error has occurred.
